Hi friends! Welcome to the Positively Influenced podcast, my name is Dani and I'm so so happy that you're here. Welcome to my very first episode if you are listening to this, this is take- I don't know- 837 but I'm learning as I go and I'm just so incredibly grateful that even one person out there is here to bear witness to this journey. I'm excited that we got to this point, since it is just the first episode this one should be on the shorter side. Although, if you know me personally, you know that brevity is not my strong suit. My intention with episode 1 was really just to come on and give you guys an idea of what to expect from this space, what my intentions were starting the positively influenced podcast, and share a little bit about me and what my personal values are that I'll be bringing to this space but I also bring to my business. I'm happy that you're here & I'll also give you guys a little sneak peek into next week which will be my first full episode with a guest. We'll get right to it.
Alright so what the f*** is the positively influenced podcast? What can you guys expect from me? Why should you keep listening week over week? Don't worry friends I've got you. First and foremost who the f*** am I? Well my name is Dani and I'm in alignment mentor and a human design guide which means I'm in the business of helping people get back to who they came here to be. I'm a big believer that we all came here to do life differently and although it's often said that there's not a road map, I found a road map in learning human design and I'm really passionate about sharing that with other people. So I use human design among other modalities like astrology oracle cards and quite honestly just the School of Life to help support people through big Transitions and out of burnout. That's a place that I know all too well, I've been there before. In fact before I started my business Practical Magic HD and well before I started this podcast I spend over a decade in Corporate America. If you ask me is for the birds if you like it I love it. It was just so far out of alignment for me and I spent again over 10 years bouncing between sales PR and marketing. Worked for boutique firms and startups and all the way up to Big Tech but none of it was for me and I didn't start listening until my body started getting really loud and and physically made me take a seat and do some serious reflecting. I'm still very much in the process of balancing out those two very opposing energies between being a corporate girlie and being a heart lead soulpreneur in somewhat of a spiritual space and my goal is to, you know, share that Journey with all of you so we can learn together.
What I'll do is I'll bounce into what the intention of this podcast is going to be to give you guys an idea. First and foremost everything I will do and share with you guys is going to be incredibly intentional. For example, it's not a mistake that you're listening to this when you are. On that note- if you've been going through it the last few weeks you are not alone okay? The astrological weather has been a little rough to say the least. So the reason I'm releasing this episode when I am is because we're out of eclipse season we still have some of that energy as the moon continues to wane but the two big eclipses are behind us. Mercury just turned direct after a few weeks in retrograde & trust me when I tell you I already learned my lessons even trying to start this project during Mercury retrograde. I wouldn't dare release my first episode until it turned direct. But on the more I guess positive or benefic side of the astrological weather, we've got Jupiter moving into Taurus & out of Aries. So that Jupiter in Aries energy was really for initiating and getting new things started (coming from an Aries sun) but this Jupiter in Taurus energy is really about bringing those ideas to life. Taurus is the sign of life and birthing new things and birthing new ideas and that lunar eclipse in Scorpio very much represented endings. You know death and rebirth. I thought that this was a really beautiful time to start something new and that actually really beautifully leads us into my first intention with positively influenced.
Like I said, this will always be a very intentional space & what that means is there might be weeks where I don't post an episode. I'll have a good mix between solo episodes on specific topics using either again human design speaking to my transition out of my corporate career sharing some of my big Transitions and how I used my own human design to help navigate them like moving from San Diego to Asheville and buying a house site unseen here in the mountains. All of the guests that I'll have on the podcast will be either people I know personally worked with personally gained something from personally. So all to say, I'm not going to just talk to talk and I'm not going to have guests on just to have guests. My intention is truly sharing my knowledge my opinions and my lived experiences because, you know, good friends don't gatekeep. For any human design fans listening I am a 1/3 and that 3 in my profile means that I've already learned a lot of hard lessons so that hopefully you don't have to. Anyone with a three or even a six in your profile- you know that we love to f*** around and find out. I have certainly done more than my fair share of that so again hoping to share some of those lived experiences with all of you so you don't have to make the same mistakes that I did. From here what I really wanted to do was also share some of my personal values that I bring into my business and that I'll be bringing into this space. This is an exercise I actually just did for myself for my website so if you're listening to this and this isn't on my website please feel free to chirp at me because it means I need to update it. But I really spent some time really reflecting on what my personal values are that I share with other people and really defining those so what better space than this to share with all of you and hold myself accountable.
Alright who the f*** am I what do I stand for? First and foremost I mean one of my primary values is alignment right? I'm in alignment Mentor so really my work was defining what alignment means to me and the people that I bring into my space. So alignment is a state of existing where our thoughts actions and decisions honor our core values. This feels like moving through life in a way that means you never have to abandon yourself. The opposite of alignment is disruption so it's that feeling when like nothing is going your way and you're just f****** exhausted, that's the opposite of what we're going for. Alignment helps us move through life with a whole lot more ease and feeling supported and really when it comes to never having to abandon yourself- this is something that my business Mentor Ashante from Synchronized Souls Inc often says that I need to remind myself- if it comes down to me or you I'm picking me every time. Right? Like that's what alignment is and I know it sounds selfish but it's not. You should always choose yourself and be moving through life in a way that enables you to choose yourself every time. My second core value is Authority, I mean that makes sense it is a part of your human design chart. So our Authority is how we're designed to best make decisions but it really is the core belief that you already have the power to make the highest and best decisions for yourself. I believe that wholeheartedly and part of my intention with the space is to really find ways to show all of you how. My next core value is autonomy. I mean personal autonomy is so incredibly important to me especially as a female living in America right now, I won't get too into it. But what personal autonomy really is is the ability to validate and govern yourself. My goal is to always give the people in my circle freedom from external influences or outside conditioning altogether and that's what I mean by helping people really get back to who they are and who they came here to be. My next core value is agency. I really hope to empower all of you with a genuine feeling of confidence and control over your own actions as well as the consequences that may follow. Like I said I f***** around and found out probably enough for all of us here so really empowering you to take that kind of control and accountability back for yourself. My next value is acceptance. This is and will always be a safe space, you are supported in showing up and sharing your thoughts feelings and opinions exactly as they are. I'm not here to try to change your mind about things I'm not here to change your core beliefs or any aspects of your identity. This is something that I tell my clients all of the time- if I'm sharing something and they're my thoughts my opinions my learned lessons and they don't feel true for you it's probably because they aren't true for you and that's okay. Or some of the things that you believe might not be true for me that's okay too! So if we're ever discussing something on this podcast that doesn't resonate with you or it's not hitting the way that I wanted to be hitting, that’s fine. Then the last one is going to be Assurance. I might not know you personally but I can assure you that I am already your biggest fan, that is something that I should have put on my resume a while ago. You have never met a hype woman like me so let me help you through the f*** up! I am so blindly confident about all of our natural abilities and the things that make each of us magic. My hope for this podcast is that I can share some of my experiences and bring some people on that will really help you see it for yourself.
Alright so we covered a little bit about who I am, a little bit about what you can expect to get from this space. I did want to leave you guys with a little sneak peek or what you can expect next week. I'm having my first guest on & it was such an honor and a privilege that I was able to have my first episode be with Dr. McKenzie O'Brien. She is not only an incredibly talented acupuncturist and herbalist in San Diego, California but she's also a really beautiful friend of mine and has been such an incredible Mentor for me as I did transition from my corporate life. From that low of just like physical mental and spiritual burnout that I was existing in back to alignment and expansion for me. I also just have like a total crush on her she's so fun and just speaks to the work she does between needling and herbalism and her study of Chinese medicine in such a beautiful and poetic way. So we cover, let's see, we do cover some personal things to her so like how she got into acupuncture, her favorite things about the work she does, but I think what you guys are really going to love is that we addressed some things like how the f*** acupuncture actually works? How painful is it or is it painful at all? What are the different things that can be used to help us all with and to heal? Spoiler alert! Cosmetic acupuncture is a thing, you might not have known that. You can totally use it to replace Botox if that resonates with you so that was really fun. Also like what the risks associated with acupuncture might be, how you can find a good acupuncturist, and dispelling some common myths and misconceptions. It's a super fun episode and again just the way she speaks to her practice and the services that she offers is so incredibly poetic and beautiful and I'm so excited for you guys to see what's next.
